Facebook reward engineering graduate for netting critical bug

An engineering graduate from Hindustan Institute of Technology in Coimbatore won a $12,500 bounty from facebook for discovering a pre existing bug on the social networking site. The bug permitted anyone to delete a photo hosted on the site. 



The rupee exchange rate that Arul is expected to receive is near around Rs 8,25,000. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that the electronic and communication graduate has bagged such an accolade. 

He netted another bug on facebook about a month ago for which he has been promised a hefty sum of $1500. He said,” Earlier this year, I heard about the Facebook bug bounty programme through which the company rewards people find who flaws on the website. Then I came to know about some Indian hackers who hunt for bugs and are rewarded," in an interview with TOI from Chennai.

NIIT Signed MoU With Autodesk To Promote Design Education In The Country

Today is a great day in the history of the leading education and IT Company, NIIT. NIIT and NIIT University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), in collaboration with the Autodesk Inc. for launching design related programs and courses in its institutes. 

Its business partner Autodesk is a firm related to 3D designs, engineering and entertainment software and services. The collaborative effort will also feature leveraging of design tools of Autodesk for hosting design courses. To accomplish the purpose, NIIT has planned to set up a design lab. 



In addition, it will also launch several masters programme in varied disciplines of design to assist and promote research and innovation. Furthermore, specialization courses viz, interface design, application design and media & entertainment design have also been launched in order to create a pan India pool of skilled and efficient manpower to serve these industries. 

The CEO of NIIT Ltd., Vijay Thadani commented,” Every class from Grade 6 to Grade 9 will be provided with design labs for use by both students and teachers. The idea is not only to open career avenues in design but also to promote 'design thinking' amongst the youth, that our research indicates as a key trait that today's employers are looking for."
