Facebook reward engineering graduate for netting critical bug

An engineering graduate from Hindustan Institute of Technology in Coimbatore won a $12,500 bounty from facebook for discovering a pre existing bug on the social networking site. The bug permitted anyone to delete a photo hosted on the site.

The rupee exchange rate that Arul is expected to receive is near around Rs 8,25,000. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that the electronic and communication graduate has bagged such an accolade.

He netted another bug on facebook about a month ago for which he has been promised a hefty sum of $1500. He said,” Earlier this year, I heard about the Facebook bug bounty programme through which the company rewards people find who flaws on the website. Then I came to know about some Indian hackers who hunt for bugs and are rewarded," in an interview with TOI from Chennai.
