Indian Students Share A Chunk Of 13% In The Popular Online Courses Of edX

In an interesting trend, Indian students showed the second highest enrollment figures in the online courses launched by the Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology a year before. More than 150000 Indian students have registered for these online courses from a total of 1.2million students that have enrolled for the programme all over the world. 

Out Of these 1.2million enrollments, 30% students herald from US while 13% are from India. The online programme initiative called edX offer courses among varied disciplines of arts, commerce and science. To name a few of these 70 courses, the most sought after includes  law, history, science, engineering, business, social sciences, computer science, public health and artificial intelligence.  

The president of edX, Anant Aggarwal reported,  “Engineering courses were in high demand initially and then subjects in public health became very popular with Indian students.”
