In an interesting move, the Tata Teleservices Ltd has scrapped the attendance system to increase the productivity of its employees and relieve them off unwanted stress.
The move has been taken ahead of the new talent management system that scraps daily time sheets, card swipe or turnstile to keep a check on its workers attendance. The new system now evaluates its manpower vis-à-vis their performance and deliverables.
The executive president of human resources, S Varadarajan said,” We have taken a liberal view on the working time of an employee. The benefit for employees is that they can focus on their work rather than fret over their attendance.
Apart from this, we provide opportunities to work from home depending upon the need of an employee.” Carrying forward his point, he added that TTSL has a track record of proven reliability and support of its staff to any lenient system.
