V Srinivas Prasad commented that people generally misinterpret the standard of education delivered across government institutions. Prasad is the district minister of Mysore.
He gave the remark during the inauguration of co-curricular activities and Prathibha Puraskar programme held at Maharaja Government PU College on Saturday. He said,” Education in government schools is good when compared to some private ones. Of late, private institutions have turned commercial.
It is a myth that students studying in private schools and colleges are bright. Many of those who have studied in government institutions have scaled heights in different fields."
The function was followed by felicitation of near around 40 meritorious students who performed well in studies and secured cent percent marks in accounts and business papers. Awards were given away by Janardhana K R who said,” I'm to be a student of this college, which has remarkable history and provides quality education."
