MOOCs: Current Revolution in Higher Education

It is interesting to note that India despite giving commendable performances in the IT industry has not been able to rope in the entire potential of the industry. A leading academia and IT industry ventured a survey in this regard.

According to the findings of the report, top notch IITs, IT majors, Infosys, TCS and Cognizant among others have initiated a program encompassing the release of free audio video tutorials. The program is aimed at equipping 1.5 lakh youth of our country with high quality education.

A key advantage of the course is that its free of cost, student friendly and job oriented. The course is designed on the footprints of massive open online courses, abbreviated as MOOCs, patent to the start-ups of Silicon Valley viz, Udacity and Coursera.

The course structure has already gained fame and recognition in European countries. Those seeking employment and aspiring for jobs are cited to be the key benefits from the program.
