Nepalis Thronging India for Higher Education

India’s pre-established status as an international hub of education is a well known and worldwide accepted fact that hardly needs repetition. According to the surveys of a latest study, India has been ranked as the no.1 choice of Nepali students for pursuing higher education.

Nepal nationals have been thronging our country since time immemorial. However, the figures surged to alarming levels lately ahead of the revolutionary developments in the field of research and education. Flexible visa rules and affordable tuition fees are cited to be the key determinants responsible for the stratospheric student inflow.

The change is also being attributed to India’s rising stature as an “Asian powerhouse” and “the fastest developing economies”.  Students are eyeing the country as one of their hot favorite destinations for its elite 50 business schools, 36 IITs, 18 NITs and much more. However, the flow is recorded to be more profuse in north east institutions viz, AIMS Bangalore, NSHM Knowledge Campus and JIS Group of Educational Initiative among others.
