Hiring Remain Muted Despite Inflow Of Projects

A freeze in hiring patterns has been witnessed across several IT companies despite anticipation of big projects from US economy. The recruitment process slowed down in June. However, an upsurge was expected due to inflow of new projects and improved results in the first quarter.

Unfortunately, the hiring was not in sync with the advancements showed by the sector. Moreover, the Vellore institute of technology in Tamil Nadu had delivered placements to 1820 students by Cognizant in Sep 2011 and 1075 by TCS in 2012; however the same companies did not turn p for any placement during the current year.

An IT company official remarked,”   IT budgets for the year were made when the demand environment was quite different. And though the demand has improved in the last two quarters, hirings may not increase before first or second quarter of the next fiscal.”
