BSNL, MTNL Enters Agreement To Share Services And Infrastructure

The local telecom operators viz, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) entered into an agreement to share their infrastructure and deliver collaborative services to its corporate clients. 

Between these two, BSNL delivers mobile, landline and internet services throughout the country with exception at Delhi and Mumbai, MTNL on the other hand, operates only over these two states. 

According to the proposals of the agreement, the two companies mandate to share infrastructure encompassing buildings, mobile masts and international long-distance phone networks. The BSNL Chairman and Managing Director R K Upadhyay said,” In the NCR (National Capital Region), leaving Delhi, where BSNL customers is on roaming, he is not charged for roaming. 

We would like to enlarge that area individually on pan-India basis so that mobile customer does not pay any fees for roaming.”
